Enabling pupils from an early age to walk and cycle to school creates choice for parents. Active fit children achieve more.
Reduced traffic and improved provision for walking and cycling will benefit Chidham Parochial Primary School. |

| As traffic is reduced more people, including the vulnerable, will feel able to walk. Local business including shops, hairdressers and hospitality will thrive. At present the road severs the villages between north and south. Examples:
A doctor’s surgery to the south of the Bosham roundabout has many patients living at Broadbridge on the north side. People use their car just to avoid crossing the road. Church congregations struggle to reach their church and are forced to use a car for short trips. |

The Prime Minister has stressed the importance of enabling key staff to get to work by bicycle. Owning and maintaining a car is beyond the reach of many low paid whereas a safe, fast cycle route enables people to find and retain work. |
| Local services | |
| Dentists, doctors and other medical professionals treat all members of the community including the less mobile. For these people it is important that they can reach these services safely and conveniently. |  |
